The Wave Swim Camps

Get your goggles ready!  The Wave Swim Camps are a year-round swim program for 6-18 year olds. The Swim Camps are housed at our outdoor competition Sports Pool in comfortable 82-84 degree water. The Wave Swim Camps' mission is to provide quality swim instruction where students will be engaged, learn, and have fun in a safe environment.  Our goal is that all students finish their camps with a positive experience of swimming and to promote a life-long love of the water.  We start with fundamental swimming skills and strokes and build into stroke efficiency while including safety skills at every level. 

We offer sessions Monday through Thursday during the evenings, Saturday-only, and Sunday-only sessions.  Each lesson is 25-45 minutes long depending on level and session.  There are no refunds for missed sessions, and you must show up in a swimsuit and bring your own towel, as our locker rooms are currently closed.  Join us and take home valuable life-long skills!

Swim Lesson Program Overview

The Wave has designed a new learn-to-swim program, which should prove to be more beneficial to our swimmers. The chart below describes in detail how the program works. After your child masters all three Turtle camps, you can then choose which strokes your child will tackle next. Freestyle is the basis for all swim strokes, which is why we begin with the Turtle camps. Next, you can choose backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly. We hope this new camp format will provide your child with a love of swimming!

Please note: All classes this season will take place in the OUTDOOR SPORTS POOL, rain or shine, but are subject to cancellation to comply with current County health orders. Programs, hours, and fees are subject to change.

Choosing a Level

The prerequisite for any camp is the minimum age requirement for the camp, and successfully passing the previous camp or showing all the equivalent skills. Choose the camp where the student has mastered the skills listed as prerequisite for that camp, meaning they can perform each skill at least three times successively, as described. Students are grouped in camps based first on skill, then on age.

Please note: Staff may combine and/or cancel classes due to the needs of the students and/or program. There are no make-up lessons for missed classes.
